Well, after some slight flight rearrangements (flight change and just an hour lay-over in Newark) I have now arrived in Manchester, England. And my checked luggage with me!
I slept only a little bit on the flight - I am a 'night owl' anyway so being up at two was nothing new.
I watched The Help and then listened to Il Volo. Got caught up in my journal, did some reading of One Thousand Gifts - an excellent book by Ann Voskamp - a warning though - be prepared to cry!
I woke up at one point and could feel the paresthesia in my hands (pins and needles). So I got up and walked around for a bit. Noticed that my fruit allergies seem to be making a slight come back :( I had ten small hive patches on both arms that took two 10mg of loratadine (Claritin) to resolve. I had this allergy kicked off last year shortly after graduation when I tried some acai berry supplements in an effort to get some energy/lose weight. The hives at that time were huge, horrible, and terribly itchy! Any time I ate any kind of fruit - tomato included, so pizza sauce/spaghetti, I'd get hives. I learned to be so thankful for antihistamines! The allergy lasted for about a year and then disappeared almost as suddenly as it had come on. But it now seems to have flared up again - possibly due to stress? I will be 'popping 'round' to a drugstore and getting some more medication that should take care of it/mask the symptoms - but prayers appreciated as allergies are not fun - especially hives!
Did get to talk/help with a few of the flight attendants before breakfast. Found out the one was born and raised in Jerusalem! Didn't sound like he was too much into 'religion'/the Jewish faith...but I did some reading in Hebrews and copied out a few verses from chapter 10 - he'd mentioned about Abraham and Isaac/sacrifices at one point - I prayed about it and was reassured that His Word does not return void unto Him. I don't even know this man's name but I felt strongly that I wanted to give him something that might be beneficial to him in some small way. Wished we'd had more time to chat - but who knows what God'll do with the little that was shared!
Right well, have had a 'cuppa tea' and some toast for 'me brekfust' :D Will write more later.
